The Educators ICT Conference 2023, themed “Emerging Technologies in Education: the future of teaching and learning”, will be jointly hosted with Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) Academy of Teaching and Learning and the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) Faculty of Computer Engineering Informatics and Communication and Faculty of Education.
Educators ICT Conference, is an annual conference that brings together educators and an array of ICT stakeholders in the education sector internationally, with the aim of reflecting on how to empower educators with the correct mix of technology skills/competencies needed to architect, deploy, build and manage technology tools to improve the quality of teaching and learning, within a country’s socio-economic context.
The conference also informs policy makers and planners on key issues that can contribute to the development of a firm future-proof teacher and pedagogical training policy that can restore confidence in the educational sector.

ICTAZ along with the ILLDS is issuing its Call for Session Proposals to solicit high-quality papers reporting research results and/or experimental results on application of emerging technologies in education to demonstrate to educators on how they can deploy these technologies in teaching and learning

The conference will also incorporate a three-day comprehensive programme where delegates will explore the various strategies and opportunities that can help educators with skills, knowledge and competencies to effectively deploy emerging technologies into teaching and learning.
Conference Objectives
The basic objectives of the conference and focused workshops can be enumerated as follows:

Build educators’ competence to integrate and implement technologies into teaching and learning practice, and to scale their deployment across the institutions to ensure inclusive and qulaity education.

Providing dedicated space to engage educators with emerging educational technologies while encouraging their exploration of the possibilities brings about new opportunities in education towards mastering the transition to Education 5.0

Investigate, acquire, test, prototype, pilot, research, and evaluate cutting-edge emerging technologies that have the potential to transform education, enhance teaching, and improve student learning towards Industry 4.0.

Increase and accelerate awareness of the application of innovative emerging technologies in education.
Target Audience
The conference aims to bring together educators and researchers as well as professionals from all spheres of academia, to broaden and deepen educators’ knowledge of new and emerging technologies, their application and integration, and the administrative practices used in the effective management of these technologies in education all towards the goal of building ICT competence for educators to master Education 5.0. It will attract hundreds of delegates from all over the country and further afield.
Conference Tracks
The conference will also incorporate a three-day comprehensive programme where delegates guided by key researchers and experts in emerging technologies in education will explore the various strategies and opportunities that can help Zimbabwean educators with skills, knowledge and competencies to effectively deploy emerging technologies into teaching and learning. This year’s theme is “Emerging Technologies in Education: the future of teaching and learning”. Papers on original works are solicited (see call for papers) on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, the following tracks:
INCORPORATING
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM
The conference will also feature the EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM to enable ICT educators, researchers, professionals and students to interact and share research works in deployment of emerging ICTs in teaching and learning. The colloquium features special lectures and discussions by prominent researchers and experts in the field of ICT in Education and more particularly in Education 5.0 and Industry 4.0.
SMART EDUCATION EXPO
Also incorporated, the SMART EDUCATION EXPO; showcases the latest products and services for Education 5.0. The expo will provide an opportunity to see the latest advances & new approaches to deploying emerging technologies into education i.e. robotics, internet-of-things, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, virtual reality, augmented reality and other related areas. It will be open to all conference delegates and visitors.
